Immense Cosmic Stature
Ancient descriptions portray Shakini as possessing an immense and imposing feminine form of extraordinary stature, with heights ranging from ten to fifteen feet. Her limbs are long and powerful, and her complexion is deep black, dark as the night of Amavasya. She wears golden ornaments, has long disheveled hair, and adorns herself with jewelry befitting ancient feminine powers. When appearing before practitioners, she often assumes a smaller, more familiar form resembling an ordinary woman to ease fear.
Voice & Exalted Command
Her voice is described as harsh, powerful, loud, and commanding; when angered, her speech becomes overwhelmingly intense. In Aghora and Tantric traditions, the Shakini is regarded as a force even more formidable than the Dakini. Associated with fierce spiritual energies, she occupies an exalted place within advanced occult disciplines. She is intensely Tamasic, and her attainment is considered exceedingly difficult, generally becoming accessible only to those who have already acquired high spiritual accomplishments. Spiritually, she is completely devoted to Bhutanatha (Lord Shiva).
